Ascend Curriculum
Our Ascend Curriculum is a piece of our preschool programming that truly separates us from our competitors. Most preschools either have no curriculum, a curriculum that is all play, or a curriculum that is very rigid and scheduled. The flexible framework built into our Ascend Curriculum allows us to meet in the middle. We progressively build valuable skills in nine subjects each month while leaving lots of room for fun and play!
Kind Child
Kind Child is proprietary program that allows us to nurture social skills and develop character traits such as Responsibility, Thankfulness, and a Positive Self-Image. It is a core subject within our monthly curriculum and an important part of our preschool’s culture. Our goal is to elevate the emotional well-being of every child and encourage positive friendships all over our school.
Our Child Care Center Features:
- An enhanced security system that monitors our entire preschool,
- Controlled access to our building through private access codes,
- Six outdoor play areas that focus on interaction within peer groups in a natural play setting,
- Rock wall for ages 2 and a half and older,
- A library and enrichment center,
- A media center for preschool children, offering the latest technology and a Smart Board.

Our Team

Tonia Harbour
School Director
I started in childcare over 20 years ago. I wanted to spend more time with my own children, so I opened my own home daycare. I came to Cadence to enroll my youngest child, who is now 16, and ended up working full-time starting the next day. I worked my way up over the years from Assistant Teacher to now Director. I have been here for 13 years and do not plan on going anywhere anytime soon! Cadence is my home away from home! I cherish the opportunity to nurture children during the most important years of their development. It is so rewarding to watch their personalities grow and know that we are playing a part in helping spark a love of learning that can last a lifetime. When I’m not at work, I like to hang out at home with my family and enjoy my cats and my plants too!

Rebekah Kauffman
Assistant Director
Rebekah Kauffman discovered her love for early childhood education back in high school while completing classroom observations. She officially began working in childcare in 2014 and joined Cadence the following year. What she enjoys most is watching children grow, achieve new goals, and giving families peace of mind knowing their little ones are thriving.
Outside of school, Rebekah loves spending time with her husband, their three children, and two bonus kids. She also enjoys reading, writing, cooking, and hiking. She is excited to continue her journey with Cadence and looks forward to building strong connections with families.
