CAP Enrichment Programs

Art – At Cadence Academy Preschool, we believe art can be a form of communication and an outlet for a child’s emotions and imagination. Exploration through art also has cross-disciplinary applications for fine motor skills: when children exercise the ergonomics of holding a stylus like a paintbrush or pencil, this repetition can help enforce a proper grip that will transfer to legible and confident penmanship. CAP’s art enrichment program will focus on painting and drawing individually and as a class for collective pieces. Children will gain an understanding of the beauty in different types of artistic expression while participating in hands-on experiences that affirm their self-esteem. Engagement in our art enrichment program will also encourage students to contribute to a greater social or community network of artists and creative pieces.

Music – Cadence Academy Preschool’s music enrichment program provides intellectual and creative stimulation through instrument discovery, musical practice, and genre-specific knowledge— of musicians, composers, musical genres, and the cultures they come from. Throughout the program, children will gain an understanding of musical expression and experience a variety of musical styles. Exposure to musical education sustains literate, mathematical, rhythmic, and passionate thinking about the ways in which feeling is expressed through sound. As an active participant in our musical enrichment program, your child will understand the importance of working together with precision to create a beautiful piece. Cooperative music-making is a practice in patience, memory skills, listening skills, and discipline. Our program’s goal is for music to become an integral part of our students’ social development and stress management, a constant medium in their lives for creative expression, communication, and connection.
