About Creative Kids Preschool in Mahopac
Creative Kids Childcare Centers are committed to providing young children nurturing learning environments. We offer preschool and child care for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old. Creative Kids Mahopac first opened its doors in September 2012.
We are proud to lead the way in preparing children for kindergarten. Through our specialized curriculum and dedicated teachers, we strive to ensure that your child is not just ready for kindergarten, but ready to excel. In 2024, 100% of the Pre-K children assessed in our school demonstrated Readiness or Advanced Readiness for Kindergarten!
Our schools are a welcoming place where every child is supported. Our teachers individualize our curriculum so each and every child can develop emotionally, physically, and cognitively. Our directors, teachers, and staff work together to create a warm and nurturing environment where children learn about themselves and the world around them.

Our Curriculum
Creative Kids teaches from The Ascend Curriculum, which leverages research and best practices so that we can take the needs of every type of learner into account. Ascend helps us maintain a high-quality learning environment where every child has the opportunity to become a creative, confident thinker.
Kind Child
Kind Child is a program that focuses on the social and emotional development of our students. We introduce social-emotional skills every month and a new character trait every two months. The goal of Kind Child is to elevate the emotional well-being of every child in our care.
Before & After School
Creative Kids Mahopac has an established relationship with the Mahopac Central School District and we have an excellent before and after school program for elementary students. Our school is a stop on the bus route for the following schools:

I am thrilled to join the Cadence family, with over 20 years in early childhood education. As a passionate leader in this field, I find joy in nurturing both children and staff, witnessing their growth into remarkable individuals. I thrive on spreading knowledge, fostering encouragement, and embracing challenges. Beyond education, I cherish music and treasure moments with my son and husband.
Haillee Hohns
Assistant Director
I started working in this field in August of 2022. I first started as a teachers assistant in our young preschool classroom. When my lead teacher left I took on the role as Lead teacher for young preschool. After a few months I was asked to be a closer for the building and eventually the LTP. When my assistant director left their position I was then asked about interest in becoming an AD. I enjoy being able to help young minds grow and help kids come into their own selves. Watching a child go from crawling to being able to read and write is so rewarding and it’s amazing to be a part of that!
In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, cooking, and watching anime as well as playing tennis and writing music!
